Trauma-informed practice in OSHC (designed by NOSHSA)
Professional development for OSHC professionals
Learn the key principles of trauma-informed practice and how you can apply them with this professional development designed specifically for outside school hours care educators. This will support your educator team to understand the impact of trauma on children’s brains, learn strategies to help children build trust and feel more secure in the OSHC setting, and respond to challenging behaviours in ways that are sensitive to a child’s potential trauma history. Educators will also explore self-care practices that support their own wellbeing while working with children with trauma.
