🌏 This Sunday 1 March is Clean Up Australia Day️ 🌏

Want to get your learning community involved, but it's crept up on you? Good news – you can organise a Clean Up any day of the year! 🙌

A Clean Up is a great way to inspire children to learn about the impact of litter on their local environment. 🌱

Work together with children and families to clean up your service's outdoor environment, a nearby park or bushland – it's up to you! ☀️

Calling all educatio

You might be hearing the term 'paramount consideration' a lot more lately.

From tomorrow, 27 February 2026, changes to the National Law will require all people in education and care services to ensure the safety, rights and best interests of children are the paramount consideration in all decisions and actions.

To help you understand what this means and how it might look in practice, ACECQA has released an information sheet:

Visit the ACECQA website to learn more about the child safety changes starting tomorrow and what they mean for you:

📣 Are you an OSHC professional who works with older children? Contribute to growing research on this topic!

Dr Bruce Hurst, OSHC research pioneer and board member (and long-time friend!) of It Takes A Village invites you to participate in a research project about programming for older children in OSHC.

This survey investigates how OSHC professionals think about and work with older children, building on the limited existing research in this space! ✨

The project aims to understand the successful strategies and unique challenges of working with children aged 10 to 12 years in Outside School Hours Care – and what resources and supports would help you do this better!

⚡ The survey is open until Friday 20 March – so don't delay! ⚡

Do the OSHC survey – it takes about 10 mins:

If you would like more information on this research project or have questions, you can contact Bruce at bruceh@unimelb.edu.au.
