Child Safety Review
The CCC and CELA submission was provided on the 11th June 2025 in response to Consultation Regulation Impact Statement (C-RIS). At the request of the Australian Government, ACECQA had put forward regulatory and non-regulatory options to improve child safety about:
- Service waivers for the design of premises to facilitate supervision of children
- Assessment of family day care residences
- Powers of entry to family day care residences
- Working with children checks
- Inappropriate conduct including by individuals
- Child safety training
- Management of devices
- Enforcement options
- Information sharing.
All stakeholders – including approved providers and service leaders, educators, staff, volunteers and families, parents, carers (and their children) – were invited to provide feedback to governments on policy options. Deloitte was commissioned to undertake the evaluation of all feedback and provide a Summative Report to the Australian Government Department of Education.
