Quality improvement plans (QIPs) are both essential to improving your service for children and families, and a requirement of both the law and the National Quality Standard. But QIPs can be challenging to manage – some gather dust while others balloon out of control. Our quality improvement planning packages will support your team to reflect on your current QIP, explore strategies to manage the admin process and incorporate stakeholder feedback, and develop a QIP that truly improves your service. You’ll also explore how the QIP is used differently for assessment and rating versus driving improvements at your service.
Package 1: Ignite
2 hours of PD – workshop

- Learn all the ‘need-to-knows’ about quality improvement planning, including NQS requirements, law and how it’s used in assessment and rating
- Understand the role of self-assessment in the quality improvement process

Package 2: Activate
4 hours of PD – workshops and/or tailored coaching and mentoring

- Identify, plan and make improvements for stakeholder engagement
- Learn how to support families and the community to meaningfully participate in the service’s quality improvement processes, including the development and review of the QIP
- Get guidance from a mentor to establish and maintain a culture of ongoing reflection and self-review to challenge, inspire, motivate and support staff
This PD aligns with QA7 and APST 6 and 7. It contributes towards the 20 hours of required PD for VIT renewal of registration.
