About the experts
Dr Bruce Hurst
Bruce has been involved in OSHC for over 35 years, working in a variety of roles including coordinator, lecturer and consultant. His research and advocacy has helped shape understanding of the needs and experiences of older children in outside school hours care, making him one of the sector's most respected voices. Bruce is currently a lecturer at The University of Melbourne, and Deputy Chair of the It Takes A Village Board.
Lucy Harberts (host)
Lucy is a dedicated advocate for a thriving community-managed outside school hours care (OSHC) sector, bringing more than 30 years’ experience across primary schools, local government services, tertiary education, and sector-wide advocacy. As a branch representative member of National Outside School Hours Services Association (NOSHSA), she represents, advocates and seeks to advance the voice of OSHC in Australia.
